Depending on how cold / snowy the destination is (ski resort, city cold, etc.), here are general categories to cover: Item Purpose / Tip Base layers / thermals (long johns, moisture-wicking underwear) Keeps you warm without bulk; helps with layering. Insulating mid-layers Fleece, down vests or light synthetic jackets to trap heat. Outer shell Waterproof & windproof coat or ski jacket. Pants Warm trousers, waterproof snow pants if needed. Warm accessories Hats, gloves/mittens (waterproof), scarves, neck gaiter. Warm socks Wool or synthetic, thick. Bring several pairs. Footwear Insulated, waterproof boots. Good grip for snow/ice. Extras Sunglasses or goggles, lip balm, hand warmers. Also layering pieces you can remove if indoor heating is high.
